Once again, QL2 Youth Dance in Canberra, Australia has hosted the Tanja Liedtke Foundation’s ‘inspiring dance’ program.

This program was conceived and designed in 2011 by a group of  artists who worked very closely with Tanja, as performers and collaborators – Sol Ulbrich, Paul White, Kristina Chan, Amelia McQueen, Josh Tyler, Anton, Craig Bary and Lisa Griffiths. The group was also assisted by dance education specialist Kath Duhigg, who distilled the ideas into a written form, creating the documentation for the program.

‘inspiring dance’ has now been experienced by hundreds of young dancers at training academies around Australia and also in Germany over the last 5 years. As well as QL2 Youth Dance, this includes:

  • West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Perth.
  • Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Frankfurt.
  • NAISDA Dance College, Kariong NSW.
  • Australian Theatre for Young People, Sydney.

This was the third time the workshops have been delivered at QL2 by Kristina Chan and Amelia McQueen and as in previous years the event was a great success.

‘The Tanja Liedtke workshops enabled not only a deepening and a playful approach to the questioning, training and rigour of being a dance artist, but enabled vital reflective time through the vehicle of dance’.
